I typically love urban settings, but creek sessions each summer are always some of my favorites! The Yiesley family did not disappoint this year.
Why you should have family photos taken at the creek
The creek is such a great location for family portraits - especially in the summer! Indiana summers can be HOT - so getting a chance to cool off in the creek during/after the session is always nice! Another reason why I love the creek is because it is a laid back location and allows your family an opportunity to just hang out and explore a new place with each other. This is great for kiddos or even dads who may be a little camera shy! I play lots of games and document you and your family just hanging out when your session is at the creek.
High Waters and fellow photographers
We had SOOOO much rain in June/July. I was a little worried we wouldn't even get to do this session because of how much rain we had. Thankfully, there was still a small stretch of the creek that wasn't covered in water yet so we could take photos there first before getting into the creek. However, this didn't leave much room for other photographers to shoot like usual. Another photographer came down while we were shooting, but we had completed the shots needed on the dry land so we headed up to the fields for some photos before getting into the creek. This gave the other photographer some time to get their photos down at the creek too - and then we went back down to finish splashing around for some photos. Community over competition guys!
