Getting Kids Comfortable (Yes, Fart Jokes Were Involved)
Let’s be honest - kids don’t walk into photo sessions ready to “smile nicely.” And they shouldn’t have to.
The kids at this session were full of energy and completely obsessed with fart humor. So… I came prepared. Mom noted in her session questionnaire that the kids were all about fart humor right now. So I made quick stop to the store before their session to grab some whoopie cushions. Out came the whoopie cushions and suddenly everyone loosened up real quick.
Here’s the truth: Kids don’t need instructions - they just need connection.
As a family photographer in Indianapolis, one of my main goals is to make kids feel seen, safe, and free to be themselves. And to achieve that, it means:
